Business Casual Tuesdays
Beginning January 2026, we’re excited to introduce Business Casual Dress! On the first Tuesday of every month, we confidently transition from our school uniforms to stylish Business Casual attire. Every woman should have a sleek black skirt or pants, complemented by a crisp white blouse or dress shirt, and polished shoes. Be ready, because you never know when opportunity will knock!

We had the absolute honor of hosting a "Coffee Conversation" with the incredible Dr. Taiisha Swinton-Buck. Our girls gained invaluable wisdom on navigating college, launching careers, and the power of leading authentically as Black women in majority spaces.
Knowledge was shared, dreams were sparked, and the future looks brighter than ever. Thank you, Dr. Swinton-Buck, for pouring into our leaders of tomorrow!
Coffee Conversation with the First Lady of Baltimore, Hana Scott. She shared her inspiring journey to this role. With a Biochemistry degree, she discussed her college experiences and challenges faced. Her honesty highlights resilience. We gained insights from her unique perspective!
Coffee Conversation with Dr. Tracey Durant, the Senior Equity of Baltimore City Public Schools and proud alumna of Western High School. Dr. Durant shared her inspiring journey from the very seats we now occupy, reflecting on how she achieved dreams she never knew she had. Her story is a testament to resilience and tenacity, and we left feeling motivated and in awe of her accomplishments. We were honored to have this chance to connect and learn from a remarkable leader in education!
Special Invitation to attend the Grand Opening of the remodeled Chick Webb Recreational Center! The center is truly phenomenal, offering an array of facilities for the community. Our President had the honor of participating in the Mayor's Press Conference where she shared her thoughts on the Mayor's Summer Youth Strategy during an interview with WJZ. We’re excited about the positive impact this initiative will have on our youth!
BGI Members recently gathered for their inaugural Queens Retreat in the picturesque Pocono Mountains. The weekend was filled with meaningful connections, personal growth, and a deep sense of love and leadership. Participants engaged in various activities that fostered learning and camaraderie, creating unforgettable memories together.
